If the hunger of the soul is misidentified, a person turns to addiction in hopes of satisfying deep psychic needs. The actual chemical dependence may be only a small part of the addiction. Often, what person is really terrified of is the sense of devastating loss that addiction usually covers up. This fear, in the end, prevents a cure.
This seminar will explore the link between the early lack of empathic care and the development of destructive behaviors later in life. Be it an addiction to one specific emotion, exercise, food, sex, shopping, alcohol, prescription or recreational drugs. Practitioners will learn ways of using acupuncture to balance brain chemistry and relieve withdrawal symptoms as well as the best ways for supporting the patient’s faith as they go through the transformation.
